The safest and lightest Rack Unit Case in the world!!!

From now on, its delicate interfaces will gain a lightweight and beautiful protective armor, inspired by exoskeletons b> of the beetles.

These insects have incredibly hard external structures, tough and at the same time light enough to allow the flight.

Constructed in aluminum and with a type of super compact rubber, which offers much more resistance to impacts than wood or plastic, the exo-rack Alhva is revolutionary and much more: Much more protection for your equipment , much lighter (3 to 4 times lighter than wooden cases), much easier and more comfortable to transport, much more elegant, and best of all, much more guarantee: 5 YEAR WARRANTY ALHVA!! !

Protection and lightness. Connecting our inspiration with reality

When you need to take your precious rack unit gear on the road, it's best to ensure your investment is well protected by a sturdy case. Alhva exoracks are designed to provide the best protection for your equipment. A robust construction with front and rear rack rails and an internal "skeleton" composed of a super light aluminum structural frame, integrated into a 25 mm thick protective foam box (which in addition to the aluminum frame leaves its interfaces insulated. within 45 mm of any casual blow). This allows, for example, that a 6-unit EXORACK weighs only 6 kilos and can withstand a stack of up to 150 kilos.

In short, for us, its interfaces are vital organs, which need to be protected, for something strong but at the same time light enough that you can transport your equipment on the plane with little resources.

It's an innovative and revolutionary concept!

Available in 2U, 3U, 4U, 5U, 6U, or any other size upon request.

Lightweight and robust; Virtually indestructible!!!

Thes exorack Alhva cases are cases with rack spaces, made with a 25 mm thick EVA foam, covered by a fabric cover/skin made of scratch- and scratch-resistant polyamide, making them virtually indestructible. It's the kind of rack case built to withstand the serious and myriad demands of touring.

But even with all this robustness, the exoracks from Alhva are the lightest rack unit cases on the market, and are real space and money savers, perfect for dispatching on the plane.

A complete rack unit enclosure

Alhva exoracks are the perfect solution for rack equipment such as effects, equalizers, compressors, and smaller amplifiers. Compact and extremely lightweight, they are very easy to transport and offer all the benefits of a full-size rack, with all the features such as front and rear rail, universal stacking, durable front and rear covers, comfortable side and top handles, ergonomic shoulder strap, etc. Front and back covers provide quick access to your gear.

Shock absorbing and rebound properties that complement each other, offering much more protection

In addition to being 25mm thick, the exclusive foam that covers the Alhva exoracks has shock absorption and rebound properties that complement each other, a unique feature that gives an extra advantage in protecting the equipment you carry. Unlike conventional wooden or plastic cases, which, because they are hard, absorb 100% of the impact and tend to crack, Alhva's exoracks cases are crack-proof, as they have the same characteristics as rubber, such as elasticity. Although stiff and thick, the foam that covers our cases reverses much of the impact through rebound. This is an even greater advantage when impacting on corners or sharp objects.

Tips and tricks for mounting rack unit equipment

How to choose racks and rack cabinets

If you are touring, rack cabinets are the most professional solution for protecting your precious and expensive mic preamps, mixers, processors, wireless gear and other audio equipment. However, not all racks and cabinets are created equal. This Alhva rack guide includes relevant information such as tips and tricks that will help you install equipment in your rack, make your life easier when transporting your equipment from one show to another, and ensure you get the most out of your rack. As there is so much to consider when purchasing racks and cases for your specific combination of equipment, please feel free to contact us for more information.

        The right rack depth

The space behind the mounting gear reserves space for all cables/connectors that need to remain attached when the rack is closed. Alhva's exoracks have a rack depth of 19.5" (50 cm), a size compact enough to accommodate most interfaces on the market. If you think you have a very deep interface and aren't sure how much space you'll need on your rack, go to contact us and tell us what equipment you need to rack and we'll help you to find the best option.

        Balance the Rack

Mount the heaviest gear at the bottom of the rack and the lighter items at the top. This will help keep the rack balanced, prevent it from tipping over when moved, and make it easier to transport and lift.

        Allow airflow

Electronic equipment, especially amplifiers, can generate a lot of heat. Heat buildup threatens the life of your equipment. If equipment such as an amplifier gets really hot, leave at least an empty space between the equipment in the rack to allow airflow. By having channels along its entire length and not pre-established holes, Alhva exoracks allow you to determine, by sliding, the distance and position of the equipment in the frame with complete freedom. Heat builds up, so try to organize things on your rack so the biggest heat producers don't get affected. In some cases, a rack-mountable fan may be needed to keep things cool.

        Convenient power and lighting solutions

Rack-mountable power conditioners can provide eight or more outlets in a single rack space. Using one of these straps allows you to keep your power cords organized and means you just need to find an outlet to plug in your gear rack. As working on a rack in a dark club or studio can be challenging, many rack-mountable power conditioners include retractable lights that can illuminate rack equipment.

        What is ATA?

ATA is the abbreviation for Air Transport Association. It is what sets the standards for the transport of cargo on aircraft. Among these are requirements for approved equipment boxes. The ATA designation means that the case complies with the minimum ATA requirements for a case of this size and type. All alhva cases, including the exorack, are shipped as a bag, and comply with ATA compliance.

Understanding the "U" in portable racks

The width and height of rack-mountable equipment are internationally standardized by manufacturers in the audio industry. At the center of this pattern is the unit, or rack space. A rack space is defined internationally as 1.75" from top to bottom and 19" wide.

Rack space - top to bottom

Rack equipment has a standard called rack unit, and 1.75″ is the height of 1-unit (1U) equipment. Thus, the height of the equipment is now measured in rack units, where one unit (1U) is 1.75", 2U is 3.5", and so on. Alhva exoracks are constructed without holes, and their rails allow the mounting of equipment of any unit height.

Rack space - left to right

From left to right, rack unit spaces are 19″ wide. Some equipment is also described as 1/2 or 1/3 of a rack unit. From left to right in a rack, one piece of 1U rack, two pieces of 1/2 rack unit, or three pieces of 1/3 rack unit will fit respectively.

Alhva's 4-unit Alhva exorack has snap-in rails at the top and bottom, and if placed in an upright position, it can also accommodate 1/2U equipment.

        Rack accessories needs

        Rack screws
While there isn't a lot of technical talk involved with rack screws, it's important to note that alhva racks don't have holes. The screw connection that secures the interface to the rack is through a nut that is recessed and slides on the rail. It is important for you to know that the nuts that come with the exoracks are M6 standard and the groove depth is 6mm. Thus, the 8mm M6 screws that come with the exorack should handle the vast majority of existing interfaces, which have a 2mm "ear". There are some interface models with a more robust ear plate, for example the Focusrite 6mm interfaces. In these cases you will need M^ screws with longer lengths. Alhva also supplies, through Legal Parts, different types of screws as optional accessories with different types of heads. You can prefer Phillips, slotted or alen screws, square heads or Torx, as long as they are in M6 standard and with length according to your equipment. Finally, be sure to use washers so you don't scratch your gear (a condition known as rack rash).

        Rack Drawers
Planning a drawer in your rack might not be vital for great sound, but it certainly is a handy place to put all the other things that need to be with your gear, like a tape measure, headphones, your SPL meter, tester cable, remote controls and hearing protection. If you need drawers or even external bags, go to contact us for more information.

        Rack Shelves
Eventually, you may want to place equipment in your rack that is not designed to be rack-mounted. Alhva also has solutions for these situations. Whether you need to place them temporarily or attach them permanently, Ahlva rack shelves will be the solution. If you need rack shelves in your rack, go to contact us and tell us the measurements of the equipment(s) you need to rack and we will help you find the best option.
